PRIMX
PRIMX - Project Risk Information Management and eXchange (PRIMX) is a web-based risk
management software solution developed with NASA funding. PRIMX facilitates a project team
to conduct continuous risk management throughout a project's life cycle. PRIMX allows users to
effectively identify, analyze, plan, track, control, and communicate risks within the team and
with management and stakeholders.
Sigma is involved in the development, implementation, and maintenance of NASA risk
management programs under multiple contracts. Support activities include development of risk
management plan, risk management training, risk identification and analysis, risk mitigation and
tracking, PRIMX risk management tool implementation, sustaining risk management support,
and reliability analysis. When supporting these activities and implementing the PRIMX tool,
Sigma adapts standards that closely reflect the nature of the project. Sigma.s PRIMX team works with the project to establish a risk management framework, complete the data dictionary for
the PRIMX database, provide needed information for risk management training materials, and provides ongoing administration of the PRIMX database to ensure its functionality and integrity.
Systems Analysis & Development
We offer complete systems engineering and evaluation. Our systems group of optical, mechanical and electrical engineers
can provide complete solutions to meet your specifications. In addition, we can provide sensor selection, parts selection,
configuration, tradeoff analysis, and requirements definition. Modeling and simulation of complex systems are also available.
Our integrated approach to mission success can prevent costly overruns and delays by identifying early critical items and specifications.
Optical Design & Fabrication
Sigma Space offers complete optical design and analysis. Our optical engineers are experts in the application
of optical design tools (Zemax, CODE V, TracePro, etc.) We have extensive experience in space optics, lidar and
altimeter systems, and attitude determination systems. We can provide tradeoff analysis and work with you in
designing an optical systems to your specifications. In addition to design, we provide fabrication, testing,
and alignment of complete opto-mechanical assemblies.
Sigma's optical laboratory is equipped with a hydraulically mounted optical bench, collimator,
optical test equipment and various types of optical hardware. Our engineers are skilled at aligning optical
instrumentation such as lidars, altimeters, and telescopes.
Mechanical Design & Manufacturing
Our engineering facilities include the latest CAD design tools including IDEAS, ProE, and AutoCAD.
Our mechanical engineers can provide complete opto-mechanical design, tradeoff analysis, and space qualified designs.
Thermal and vibration analysis is also available.
Our state of the art machining facility with computer-aided manufacturing
equipment is available for quick turn around manufacturing of custom system
parts. Our machinists have extensive experience working with custom parts
and flight instrumentation. The synergy created by our in house machining
facilities and experienced mechanical designers, allows Sigma to go from a
design concept to completed hardware in record time and with minimum cost.
Electrical Design & Manufacturing
Our Electrical Engineers are provided with the latest design tools such as Orcad Capture & Layout, Pspice and VHDL.
They have experience in control and data acquisition systems for instruments such as spectrometers, lidars, altimeters and radars.
In addition they have extensive experience in developing motion control and laser control systems. Technologies that they have
worked with include DSP, CPLD, FPGA, ECL/TTL.
Software Development & Integration
Sigma Space can provide our customers with customized software modules for data analysis, modeling, fast data acquisition
and instrument control. Our staff has experience with National Instruments LabView® and LabWindows/CVI® Measurement Studio,
Matlab and IDL.
Clean Room Facilities
Sigma has a class 10,000 clean room facility with static-controlled workstations used for flight hardware
assembly and testing.
