Wide Field of View Camera
Compact, linearly-variable-etalon hyperspectral imagers are the next generation of Earth and planetary observation instruments.
This new family of spectrometers enables simultaneous sounding of numerous geophysical quantities for scientific applications.
After successful demonstration in space with the Linear Etalon Infrared Spectrometer Array (LEISA) on the EO-1 mission, NASA GSFC
is currently testing novel four color Quantum Well Infrared Photo Detectors (4-QWIP). Sigma supported this effort by developing a
Wide Field Cryogenic Camera. Integration of linear
variable etalon filters to 4-QWIP yield 128 spectral channels per band.
