Dr. Anthony J. TetherThe Pentagon's former top innovator, Dr. Anthony J. Tether, has joined our distinguished and growing Board of Directors. Dr. Tether served for eight years as the director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, DARPA. Earlier this year Sigma Space hired its Chief Science Officer, Dr. Phil DeCola, who previously served as a science advisor to two administrations in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and as NASA Headquarter's Lead Scientist for Atmospheric Composition.

 

DARPA is the Defense Department’s highest-end research and development group that has made major contributions to information technology, and most famously launched the earliest Internet, in the late 1960s.

The appointment of Dr. Tether is a significant event for our Company: his expertise, accumulated over a celebrated career in science, government and technology, will provide enabling perspective for our research and development programs, in particular for NASA aerospace technology,” said Dr. Marcos Sirota, president and CEO of Sigma Space.

Shortly after leaving DARPA in 2009, Dr. Tether re-formed The Sequoia Group (TSG), which serves government and industrial clients. The Sequoia Group provides program management and strategy development services to government and industry. He is also a Distinguished Fellow with the Council on Competitiveness located in Washington DC.
